i keep smashing yellow flowers into another yellow one, i've tried using other hammers but same thing keeps happening

true but also with smashing flowers for upgrades it seems to not work as consistently because the outcome seems luck/chance based. You can succeed in smashing two flowers together (so smash did not fail) but the outcome seems 50/50 or probably more like 60/40 of you getting the next higher tier vs. one of the same tier back

it's bad odds but possible, i feel like i fail 2 and 1 succeeds, no clear way i found out what matters so it doesn't waste your flowers

Agree, pollen + beetle is probably better, greater material odds maybe? It might be the same though, pollen probably = 1 beetle

I don't think so, it should be pollen + beetle of same tier = upgrade of said beetle

OR you also have the fail safe outcome which is beetle + pollen = upgrade material such as Nectar, as seen you can get nectar from a Lady bug + bronze pollen. That's why I'm thinking mathematically, it probably is better to run p ollen

Ye, I'm wondering if that's not worth it now because Junk Cube + Beetle = Flower of same tier. I think flower smash has lower odds probably than even 60/40, maybe 70/30 is more right

Yes, 100%, you can do it on all tiers, I sacrificed a stag + junk cube and got a gazania

Means there are no diamond flowers and so no diamond pollen and no upgrade plants. The only way left to test if there is a next tier is to smash two gold scarabs.

Just tried to smash an adamantine beetol with adamantine pollen - nothing. So a diamond upgrade plant doesn’t exist. You can only smash 2 adamantine beetles together with your best hammer to upgrade to a gold one.

Smashing 2 adamantines doesn’t work as well, should be some other way to upgrade to diamond

I mean “nothing happened”, not failed, means recipe doesn’t exist. It works with the previous tiers, but doesn’t with the final upgrade.

I’ve tried to combine everything with adamantine beetles, i really don’t know the recipe. Would be sad if the golden scarab can only be found, but not crafted T_T

ya same, two adamantine flowers = nothing happened.

I am fairly certain the last two beetles are fourth key related. Tried to get a key yesterday with adamantine flower + junk cube(s) as well as adamantine flower + junk tesseract(s). Tried everything that came to mind like two adamantine + junk cube/tess and nothing.

Could very well be that there are two more beetles but not released yet - like the fourth spot releasing with the next update or sum

I'm just going to keep claiming and hunting beetles. Seems there's no timeline or any reason to craft earlier. I've made a few hammers so far but that's about it. I'm also intentionally keeping at least one of everything in case they have a future use case.

I like the crafting update, but I also enjoyed the simplicity of just checking in regularly and claiming/hunting beetles. I'm sure the crafting will have some benefit in a future update (Beetle racing? Beetle fighting?) but since there's no urgency, I'm happy to just wait until more data is available regarding crafting.

There are 3 tin flowers, 3 bronze flowers, 3 mithril flowers, and only 2 adamantine flowers. So we have a missing adamantine flower.
If pinecone (adamantine artifact) + moss (adamantine artifact) + gunpowder (adamantine artifact) = diamond flower
then,
nectar (mithril artifact) + cattail (mithril artifact) + ? (mithril artifact) = our missing third adamantine flower

Though it would be weird as that would mean both the beetle number and the flower number was wrong
